Poker is a card game with many variants that involve betting between players. The object of the game is to have a better hand than your opponents, and to win the pot, which is the total amount of bets made during a single deal. In the poker game, each player makes a bet by placing chips or cash in front of them into the pot, or sometimes on their own hand. One of the best things you can do in Poker is read the other players at the table and learn their tells – the little things they do that indicate what kind of hand they are holding. For example, if someone calls bet after bet without raising, they are probably holding a very strong hand. Similarly, if someone makes a large raise, they may be trying to scare the other players into calling their bet in order to take advantage of their strength.
